As of August 2020, everything above relies on Family Trees submitted by members of Ancestry.com. Primary records do not seem readily available. The death date given, 19 December 1675, is not supported by Watertown Vital Records (which do have the death of his son William in 1683/84).

Anne and Anna spray, daughter(s) of Walter John and Agnes (Austen) Spray, is/are the wife of James Bemis rather than or in addition to being the wife of William Hagar. Bemis, like Anna, is said to be from Dedham, Essex, whereas Hagar is from Shropshire. Because Anne's and Anna's children's birthdates overlap, the only way that both accounts can be true is to have Anne and Anna separate daughters of Walter and Agnes, and that is what WikiTree now has at Spray-21 and Spray-22. Anna (Spray) Hagar's son William Hagar-30 is recorded as husband of Anne (Spray) Bemis's daughter Mary Bemis-3, first cousins.
