Biography

When Roy Oscar Hagstrom was born on June 10, 1897, in Rosedale, Kansas, his father, Axel, was 35 and his mother, Johanna, was 28. He married Ruth C Steams on March 3, 1920, in Jackson, Missouri. He died on September 3, 1961, in Jackson, Missouri, at the age of 64 at St. Joeseph Hostiptal.

He was a retired long-distance switchman for the Southwestern Bell Telephone company. He worked there more than 40 years. He was a veteran of World War I serving in the Navy Reserves. He was a member of the Temple Masonic Lodge, the Square Compass club, the N. N. and E. society, the Independent Order of Svithoids, and the Telephone Pioneers.
