Mary Elizabeth was born on the 17 May 1867 in the Town of Stalybridge, 8 miles (12.9 km) east of the City of Manchester (Lancashire), District of Tameside, in Cheshire, England[1][2]. Her parents were Thomas Hague and Betty Tonge.
She is baptized on the 1 September 1867 at the Methodist New Connexion Chapel, Grosvenor Square, in the Town of Stalybridge, District of Tameside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, England[3].
James (Green) marries Mary Elizabeth (Hague) between July and September 1890 in the District of Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire, England[4].
James and Mary Elizabeth (Hague) had six children but one passed away after only 12 hours (see 1911 England Census).
We find Mary Elizabeth in the Census Record of 1871 living with her parents Thomas (Hague) and Betty (Tonge). They are living at 26-28 Vandry Street, in the Town of Dukinfield, directly south of the Town of Ashton under Lyne, in Lancashire, England[5]. We find Thomas in 1881 still living in Vandry Street, in the Town of Dukinfield (Cheshire) with his wife Betty (Tonge); children Mary Elizabeth and Samuel Charles (Hague) and Domestic Servant, Mary Judith (Green)[6].
She disappears with the arrival of the Census of 1891 but the Census of 1901 reveals that James (Green) has married Mary Elizabeth (Hague) and they are living with their children Arthur Hague, Frederick Thomas, James Wilfred and Walter Vincent (Green) at 69 Saint Domingo Vale, North Everton, in the City of Liverpool, District West Derby, in Lancashire, England[7]. With the Census of 1911 we find James and Mary Elizabeth living with their children Arthur Hague, Frederick Thomas, James Wilfred, Walter Vincent and Florence Alice (Green) and Domestic Servant, Elizabeth (Finch). They reside at 57 Kings Road, Sedgely Park, in the Town of Prestwich, in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, 3.3 miles (5.3 km) north of Manchester City, in Lancashire, England[8]. By 1939, James and Mary Elizabeth have moved and they live with children James Wilfred and Florence Alice (Green) and retired Dressmaker, Alice (Roughley). Their address is "Staveleigh", Lancaster Road, in the Village of Knott End-on-Sea, on the southern side of Morecambe Bay, across the Wyre estuary from the Town of Fleetwood, Preesall Unitary District, in Lancashire, England[9].
Mary Elizabeth (Hague) passes away between January and March 1946, possibly in the Village of Knott End-on-Sea, Parish of Preesall, District of Garstang, in Lancashire, England. She was 78 years old at the time and the probable cause is Old Age and Senile Decay. It seems as though James and Mary Elizabeth passed within days of each other[10].
