WIDELY KNOWN DOCTOR, GUSTAV HAHN, IS DEAD
Former Police Surgeon Succumbs to Nervousness, Due to Excessive Labors.
Dr. Gustav Hahn, prominent Omaha physician, died at 8 o'clock Saturday night at his home, 2121 Douglas street. Death was due to a nervous breakdown, caused by over-application to his work. He had been ill for a month.
Dr. Hahn was well known among the medical fraternity and leaves many friends in this community. At one time he was police surgeon. His son, Frederick, will graduate from the Illinois Medical college this week.
Besides his son, Dr. Hahn is survived by one daughter, Louise, by three sisters, Mrs. Alex Gunther, Mrs. Lena Drishaus and Mass [sic] Marie Hahn, and by one brother, Adolph Hahn of Durango, Colo. Alfred Marchner is a brother-in-law.
The funeral which, will be private, will be held from the family residence Tuesday morning.[14]
Dr. Gustave Hahn, formerly of Sheboygan, died May 29, at his home in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of the late Dr. G. Hahn, Sr., and had an extensive acquaintance in this city.
Decedent was born in Sheboygan and reared here, learning the drug business with the late Thomas Blackstock. Later he studied to become a physician. He was married 26 years ago to Miss Paula Marshner, of this city, and of the union were born two children, who survive, being Frederick and Louise. The former is to be graduated from Rush Medical college, Chicago, this week. Local relatives include three sisters of Mrs. Hahn residing here, who are Mrs. Anton Nelson, Mrs. G. Zoerner and Miss Augusta Marschner.
The funeral was held at the family residence in Omaha, being in charge of the Masons, of which order decedent was a member.[17]
