Biography

Ruth Helene Hahn was born on October 12, 1903 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan, United States to William and Minnie (Koats) Hahn. [1]

Ruth married George Prentiss Baldwin on 24 Oct. 1921 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan, United States. She was 18 and he was 23 at the time of their marriage. Ruth was a reed worker. [2]

Ruth passed away on 7 August 1982 in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, United States. She is buried at Fairplains Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan, United States. [3]

Ruth's obituary reads: "Mrs. Ruth Baldwin, aged 78, passed away Saturday morning at St. Mary's Hospital. She is survived by her children, George L. and Wanda, Robert W. and I. Elizabeth (Peg) all of Grand Rapids, Bradford J. and Emily of Kalamazoo, Daniel A. and Mary, Mrs. Eleanor Herrera all of Grand Rapids; 19 grand children; 17 great grandchildren; her sister Mrs. Marian Bruno of Grand Rapids and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Baldwin will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30pm at the Creston Chapel with Rev. Eugene Slep officiating. Interment in Fairplains Cemetery. Mrs. Baldwin reposes at the chapel where relatives and friends may meet the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Monday. Those who wish may make memorial contributions the the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children." [4]
