  • History of Scranton, Pennsylvania by William Connell and published in Dayton, Ohio 1891 mentions that Stephen and Ransford Hoyt were the heirs of Jedediah Hoyt.
  • Orphan's Court record dated 15 Oct 1793 stated that Jedediah Hoyt's children were Stephen, Ransford and Anna.
  • 1790 US Federal Census for Luzerne County, Pennsylvania for Jedediah Hoyt.
  • Hoyt, Haight and Hight Families by David W. Hoyt page 371 lists Jedediah Hoyt as son of Thomas and Anna Hoyt. See page 287 which states that Goodman Witchfield and Simon Hoyt must divide the marsh near the Rainsford House,
