She was born about 1294. They had three sons, Jean (or Jan) (died young), Guillaume (or Willem) (IV) [Count of Hainault and Holland], and Louis (or Lodewijk) (died young), and six daughters Sibylla, Marguerite (or Margaretha), PHILIPPE, Jeanne (or Johanna), Agnes, and Isabelle (or Elisabeth). .... GUILLAUME III, Count of Hainault, Holland, and Zeeland, died at Valenciennes (Nord) 7 (or 8) June 1337, and buried there in the Church of the Franciscans. JEANNE OF VALOIS, former Countess of Hainault and Holland, died at Fontenelles Abbey 7 March 1352, and was buried there.

De Avesnes-64 and Hainaut-43 appear to represent the same person because: same person, please merge ... Hainaut is the correct LNAB per MedLands - GUILLAUME de Hainaut. A leader needs to fix the privacy for De Avesnes-64 in order to complete this merge.

Thank you.

Hi Colin,

Could you add more details about this person, please? We are trying to identify he and his wife. Their identities are very similar to a couple who lived in the 13th century and it is causing confusion.

Thank you!

Hainaut-43 and De Avesnes-64 do not represent the same person because: Since their wives are different (rejected merge), they can't be the same person.

De Avesnes-64 and Hainaut-43 appear to represent the same person because: They are both Guillaume III de Hainaut (d'Avesnes) who married Jeanne de Valois - there's only one.
