He married Gayle Lee Conaway on 2 June 1962 in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County.[2]
William died on 30 July 1991 in Stanleyville, Forsyth County, North Carolina,[3] and he is buried in Bay Pines National Cemetery in Bay Pines.[4]
