1850 US Census. Randolph County, IL Township 4 S R 5 W John 60, Margaret 43 John B. 20, Margaret 18, Martha16, David 14, Nancy 12, Elizabeth 10 and Sarah Ann 3. John's birthplace was Ireland about 1790.

1860 US Census: Randolph County, IL Margaret C. Haire 52, David Hair 22, Martha Hair 24, Elizabeth Hair 18, Sarah E. Hair 13, Charles J. Hair 10; Henry Jackson 14. Gone from household since 1850 Census: John dead, John B. Margaret, Nancy and Sarah Ann. Nancy. Added CharlesJ.

1870 U.S. Census-Randolph County, IL Margaret C. Hair, aged 63; born about 1807 in Pennsylvania. Home: Township 4 Range 5, Randolph County. Post Office: Coulterville, IL Household members: David Hair age 30-laborer Elizabeth Hair age 26 Theophelus Jones age 25-farm hand Martha Hair age 32 Charlotte J. Hair age 20

1860 Census gives a Charles J born same year span as Charlotte J and gives the gender for Charles J as male. 1870 lists a Charlotte J. and gender female. Either there were twins and Charles is now "gone" or someone made a mistake somewhere.

1880 US Census Living in Sparta Precinct David Haire 43 farmer, Martha Haire 45 keeping house, Charles Perkins 25 Missouri-farm hand.
