Haldane (Adam) in Longnidrie and Eliza Louden his wife had a son born March 19th 1779[1] baptd same day by Mr Cowan and named _ James _ Wit George Ronaldson and William Haldane
Marriage
James was married on 21 Mar 1801 in Prestonpans, Haddingtonshire, Scotland, to Isabella Thomson.[2]
Prestonpans had extensive potteries, which commenced about the middle of the 1700's and employed about 40 men and upwards of 50 boys. About 1830 they degenerated into a small manufactory of brown and whiteware. The majority of James children appear to have been actively employed in this industry and it's gradual decline during the 1800's may well have been the reason for William, Andrew, Mark and Thomas all moving to Glasgow.
