Robert was born in Mansfield, Wright, Missouri on November 25, 1930. He is the son of Lester Hale and Lena Schlicher. [1]

Robert L. Hale, 72, died in Port Angeles of cancer.
Born in Mansfield, Mo., to Lester and Lena Irene (Schlicher) Hale, he graduated from high school in Corning, Calif., in 1948. He also attended Shasta Junior College and Chico State University, both in California
On Nov. 24, 1962, he married Betty C. Vaughn in Reno, Nev.
The Hales came to Port Angeles in 1974.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, an avid horseback rider and he enjoyed gardening and landscaping.
Survivors include his wife; son Ron Hale of Big Bear, Calif.; daughters Hollie Vinson of Chico, Calif., and Kelly Melendez of Castroville, Calif.; brothers Max Hale of Sonoma, Calif., Jerry Butterfield of Woodland, Calif., and Dick Hale of Hayward, Calif.; sisters Margaurite Myers of Gerber, Calif., and Carolyn Richardson of San Jose, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Son Bret Hale preceded him in death.
Services: Services will be private. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, Port Angeles, is in charge of arrangements.
