Bennett died after 1870 in Missouri, aged about 61. If this is correct, then this is the wrong death citation because his death was in 1864 of tifoid while serving during the Civil War (see Research Notes).[6]
Research Notes
I believe there is enough data here to prove that THIS Bennett Hail was born in Virginia, as were his siblings, and that he moved to Kentucky with the family and then the family moved to Missouri circa 1832-34. The marriage record substantiates that, also the 1850 census. It appears that his wife Elsey Reed-Hail has passed away after 1850 and before 1860. Note: The Bennett Hail that was born in Tennessee, joined the Tennessee Cavalry and then moved to, yep you guessed it MISSOURI, just about the same time.
Found a Bennett Hail military card that gives his age as 45..in 1863, which means this Bennett Hale was born 1818
