Inscription: Lieut. ISRAEL HALE DIED Aug 25, 1850 AE 84

Research Notes

  • Israel first married Jemima Hale. Israel and Jemima are both descended from John Hale (1666/69 - ). After Jemima's death Israel married Elizabeth Hale, ancestors unknown.
  • Hale, House and Related Families Mainly of the Connecticut River Valley has the place of birth in Portland, Connecticut. The same reference has the date of birth as 18 May 1766 with a note stating it could be 18 Mar 1766. Connecticut, U.S., Church Record Abstracts, 1630-1920 has a baptism of Israel on 18 April 1766. That records states Grace and Israel were both baptized on that date. Hale, House and Related Families Mainly of the Connecticut River Valley also has the baptism date for Grace. Based on the baptism date I think 16 Mar 1766 is the correct birth date.

Burial: Center Cemetery Bernardston Franklin County Massachusetts, USA
