Biography

When Elder James Hale was born in 1778 in North Carolina. He married Elizabeth Betsy Thompson on August 13, 1802. They had three children during their marriage. He died in May 1855 in Gwinnett, Georgia, having lived a long life of 77 years.

In 1823 The Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church in what is now Lilburn, GA (then McDaniel) was founded by Elder James Hale (1778-1855) and fourteen others. The church is still active today. In 1840 a group left the church and starte the Liberty Baptist church which is now The First Baptist Church of Lilburn.
