Barbra was born in 1890. She is the daughter of Schuyler Hale and Flora Gilson. She and her family lived in Grundy County, IA in 1905. By 1920, she and husband Ira Carter are living in Union, Iowa with two children: Gladys (age 7) and Earl (age 3). In 1930 US Census, the family is living in Jefferson County, NE. In 1940, the children are gone and Barbra and her husband are with Flora Hale in Rock Creek, Jefferson, NE. She died in 1964.
