An affidavit from Jinsey which gives details on some of her relatives and connections:[1]
"[p 40: On October 3rd, 1846 in Washington County Georgia, Jincey Riddle, 76 last Christmas gave testimony that she knew John Jordan the husband of Winnifred Jordan who is applying for a pension; that John Jordan came to the house of the affiant's father, Henry Hayley in Greensville County Virginia some time after the surrender of Savannah Georgia to the English; that upon his return there was great stir in the settlement because cousin Johnny (said John Jordan) had just returned from confinement on board a British prison ship and needed clothing; that he returned to the Army and after the fall of Cornwallis John Jordan returned to the house of Henry Hayley infected with the smallpox; 3 or 4 years afterwards John Jordan intermarried with Winnifred Jordan of North Hampton [sic], Northampton] County North Carolina; that affiant was not at the wedding but was staying with the family 2 or 3 miles from place where the wedding occurred; that John Jordan and his wife returned to the affiant's father's home and stayed several years during which time the affiant married Jesse Jordan. She signed her affidavit with her mark.]”
