John Wesley Hall (race: E) was the son of John HALL & Margaret WEECH. (p 50a)
There was some confusion about John's birth record for he signed the following: "I John Wesley HALL make oath that I was born on May 23 1877 & that I was named John Wesley Hall since infancy.. 1 Aug 1945." from Bahamas Civil Registration
The small 1.5 story house of weathered cedar that stands next to the cemetery was the home of John Wesley and Lillian Irene Knowles. It was purchased by an architect from New York.
Apparently there were a few years when John sought employment in the US as a sponge fisherman. In 1900, he is recorded as having immigrated in 1894 (age 18) and living with his older brother Willam Hall in Precinct 4, Sutherland & Precinct 14, Tarpon Springs & Precinct 18, Keystone Park & Precinct 2, Hillsborough, Florida, United States.
John returned to the Current and before 1902, he married Irene Knowles (b Long Island but living most of her life at Current.)
Apparently William remained in Florida for John revisited Florida to see his brother WH Hall. A travel document of 1903 shows him sailing on the schooner Equator into to Key West, then thought by his family to be "The New York of (their) world"
