Jehu was a Tax Collector in Appling County, GA 1839-1843 and served as Justice of Appling County Inferior Court, 1849-1853. He served in Capt N. J. Holton's Company during the Indian Wars, being mustered in 9 Jun 1838-19 Aug 1838.
