Halls of New England, Genealogical & Biographical, by Rev. David B. Hall, A.M. of Duanesburon, N.Y., Printed for the Author, by Joel Munsell's Sons, 82 State Street, Albany, N.Y. 1883. p. 87-88. Among those who singed the covenant of the firs planters, Nov. 31, 1669, and then proceeded to locat a place for the villiage, were Thomas Hall, Samuel Hall and John Hall. After the village was settled (Wallingford, Conn.) was settled certain wood and meadow lands were assigned to each of he 36 families, among whom were those of Samuel Hall, John Hall, and Thomas Hall. In 1689 the head of the plain, now Meriden, was laid out for a village 80 rods long, and building lots staked out; these lots were drawn by raffle, one by each planter in Wallingford; among the names were those of Thomas Hall, Samuel Hall, John Hall, Sen., and David Hall. In 1679 the town of Wallingford granted to David Hall, Thomas Hall and others, three acres each, lying on the east side of the meadow and swamp, called Dog's Misery. In 1707 the town chose David Hall and two others a committee to see that the misery highway was not pinched of the 20 rods in any place, from the town to misery. In 1696, a protest was signed disapproving of make expense for the town in settling a dispute between Yale and Royce about a watering place, among the signors were John Hall, Jr., David Hall, Thomas Hall, Sen., but Lieutenant Samuel Hall, dissented. John Hall of Wallingford, Conn., A Monograph by James Shepard, Published by Record Press, New Britain, Conn., 1902. p. 41. His occupation is given in the land records as "Carpenter." His estate was probated first Monday of Jan., 1711-12. Adm. to his widow Grace and Son Daniel. Distrubtion, April 10, 1722. Children's names and ages appended to the inventory is as follows: "Thomas, Mary, Jonathan, Joseph, Daniell, Rebecca, arrived to fullage, Israell Hall, fifteen years old." (New Haven Probate, Vol. 3, p. 311. Distribution, Vol. 5, p. 164.) The surviving children as given below, convey interest in his estate to "our brother Jonathan Hall," Feb. 20, 1729, and to "our brother Joseph Hall," March 14, 1743/4. (Wallingford Land, Book 6, p. 274, and Book 10, p. 26.) Less From "Descendants of John Hall" Families of Ancient New Haven lists him as being baptized on march 26, 1649, but list him dying on Sept. 17, 1711 at age 60. Thomas was a Sergeant.
