Biography

Algetha was born in New Hampshire, USA in 1821.

She was a schoolteacher in Anamosa, teaching first in an old log schoolhouse on Elm Street. She came to Anamosa from New Hampshire in 1848.

Algetha's son, Frederick Friend, d. 22 Oct 1942 in Saint Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota at age 82. His wife was Nettie Jane Holly Friend
