Some sources place his birth in Andover, Merrimack County, New Hampshire on June 5, 1791. Henry Hall, son of Lucy Harris Hall (1752 - abt. 1830) & Henry Hall Jr. (1740 - after 1800), grew up in Rumney, Grafton, New Hampshire, served in the War of 1812 and in 1848, took advantage of a land grant in Southeast Iowa.
Henry Hall Junior, his wife and baby lived in close proximity to John Hall's family, Reuben Hall's family, Jonathan Hall's family and Jonathan Hall Junior's family.
After the War of 1812, Henry applied for a Bounty Land Warrant and was granted acreage in Southeast Iowa. In 1848, Henry and his wife Jane Brewster Hall settled in Anamosa Iowa area as farmers. Jane died Oct 2, 1861 and her possessions went to probate court[1] concerning heirs:
