Biography

The 1880 US Census lists her as a son rather than a daughter, but she was only 1 year old, so perhaps the census taker made some assumptions.
The 1900 US Census gives her last name as Batterton and includes her three children: Pansy, Nellie and Leroy. She is living in her parents' household, and her marital status is given as "widowed."
