Edward Hall emigrated to Australia and settled in Adelaide till the mid 1860's. He and his wife Mary Jane James had 4 known children during their time in South Australia. Two died as infants. The family emigrated to New Zealand in 1865 arriving in Port Chalmers, Dunedin. They settled in Dunedin and Edward worked as a butcher. He died age 71 and is buried at the Southern Cemetery.
