Sarah Ann Hallam, daughter of Jack and Mary, was born at Gunning in 1877. In 1902 she married Daniel Brodrick at Gunning.

Daniel was born at Gurrundah, a small settlement about 10 miles (16 kilometres) north of Mutbilly, in 1869, son of Michael Broderick and Maria Tully, married at Goulburn in 1862. Michael Broderick was listed in Greville's Directory as a farmer at Gurrunda in the Post Town of Gullen.

Sarah's and Daniel's nine children, Mary, Sarah, Michael, Winifred, Daniel, Francis, Catherine, Thomas and Peter, were born at Gurrundah between 1903 and 1911 and at Gunning in 1914 and 1915.

Daniel died in 1936 and is buried at Queanbeyan, on the Southern Tablelands of NSW. Sarah died in 1965 and is also buried at Queanbeyan. Of Sarah's and Daniel's children, Francis and Catherine died as children and are buried at Gurrundah; Sarah and Mary are buried at Crookwell, not far from Gurrundah; Thomas is buried at Queanbeyan; and Michael, Winifred, Daniel and Peter are buried in Canberra.[8]
