Biography

Julia was born in 1885 in New York City. She was the daughter of Tomas Haller and Josefa Jaros, immigrants from Bohemia. She worked as a nurse.^[1].

In 1907, Julia married Jerome Daub. The couple had three children:

1. Ruth Daub, later Conner
2. Elenor Frances Daub, died in childhood
3. Warren Daub

She passed away in 1976 in Westchester County, New York.

Birth

Some sources show Julia as having been born in Bohemia, Austria ^[2]. However her parents only emigrated with one child, Julia's brother Rudolph Haller. Julia was born in New York City.

The May 1882 birth date shown in the 1900 U.S. Census is also impossible. Rudolph was born in January of that year, and Julia is not on the June 1882 ship's manifest for her parents immigration. The 1905 N.Y. State Census shows an 1885 birth year, which is consistent with other records.

Julia's marriage record gives her mother as Frances Stepanek ("Frnces Stephanek"). In fact, this was her stepmother. Having been born in 1885, Julia was a child of her father's first marriage to Josefa Jaros. Josefa passed away in 1890, well after Julia's birth.
