Marian was born in 1887. She was the daughter of Thomas Hallett and Julia Marsh.
It is known that Marian married in 1914, and she and her husband are found living in Southampton, in the 1939 Register, in company with her father and sister. Unfortunately it is not at present possible to identify her spouse with an acceptable degree of certainty, owing to his not uncommon names. He was a "gas meter fitter" by trade, and we know his date of birth. However, "Frederick W Baker" is found in abundance all over England and Wales; knowing he was born in 1885 does narrow the search to thirteen possible candidates, but more exact identification will not be possible without either (1) purchasing the marriage certificate, with the groom's father's name, and/or (2) waiting for the publication of the 1921 Census, which should state his place of birth. We know, at least, that Marian passed away in 1975; Mr. Baker also died, but there were 391 possible such events in the forty years following his last certain sighting.
P.S. 2022 Still no trace of Frederick W Baker among the 85 men of that name in the 1921 Census, nor is there a sign of his spouse - the couple may have elected to be elsewhere at that moment (RO)
