Dorothy & Walter were married in Lower Hutt on 15 July 1933. ^[2]

Dorothy and Walter had five children 1935-1944: Audrey, Graeme, Margaret, Dorothy and Owen. All but Margaret are alive.

She died in 2011 aged 102. FRETHEY, Dorothy Evelyn (nee Halliday) Peacefully at Hikurangi Rest Home, Wanganui on Monday 16 May 2011, aged 102 years. Loved wife of the late W.J. (Jack) Frethey. Greatly loved and respected mother of Audrey and Chris (Tauranga), Graeme and Joy (Kawakawa), Margaret and Ross (Titahi Bay), Olwyn (Alexandra) and Owen and Rachel (Papakura). Cherished by her 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 23 great great grandchildren and all her nieces and nephews. Will be sorely missed by her honorary daughter Adrienne Duxfield and all at the Wanganui East Baptish Church. Special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Hikurangi Rest Home.
