Peter married Mary Polly (Van Vleet) Halsey, marrying in Lodi, New York around 1825[citation needed] and having eleven known children together. They took up residence together in Lodi,[1][2] later migrating west to Michigan, arriving around 1842[citation needed] and settling in Lima Township, in Washtenaw County.[3][4] In 1870, Peter and his wife were enumerated in Webster Township, Michigan home of their daughter, Frances Van Riper, and her family.[5]
Peter Halsey passed away in 1874,[citation needed] and is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dexter, Michigan.[6] His remaining land in Seneca County being transferred to his son, Silas, in 1877.[7][8]
