Kathleen Tynan was a Canadian-British journalist, author and screenwriter. She was the daughter of Canadian war correspondent Matthew Halton. In 1967 she married the British theatre critic, Kenneth Tynan. She published a novel in 1975 called "The Summer Aeroplane" which was made into the film Agatha starring Dustin Hoffman and Vanessa Redgrave for which she collaborated on the screenplay. After her husband's death in 1980, she wrote his biography.
