Sarah Hamblen was born on 17 December 1761 in Gorham, Maine. Her parents were Joseph Hamblen and Hannah (Whitney) Hamblen[1].
She married Edmund Phinney on 26 March 1780[2] in Gorham. They had nine children[3]:
1. Clement, born 16 Aug 1780; married Joanna Wallace
2. John, born 26 Nov 1783; married Nancy Gammon
3. James, born 1785; died 1806
4. Betsey, born 1 May 1787; married David McLellan
5. Joseph H., born 18 Oct 1789; married Sally Whitney
6. Hannah; married Samuel Gilkey
7. Thomas, born 5 May 1798; married Sally Woodward
8. Edmund, born 12 Sep 1799; married Eliza Woodward
9. Jane, born Jun 1803; married Alvah Scribner
Sarah passed away on 15 February 1833 in Harrison, Maine[4], and is buried in Maple Ridge Cemetery.
