Biography

Matthew was born April 28, 1845 in Staffordshire, England. (Some records say he was born in Silverdale, some Knutton) He was a son of Joseph Hambleton and Hannah (Willcox) Hambleton.^[1]

He married Ellen Wareham on February 24, 1868 in Audley, Staffordshire. She was a daughter of Andrew Wareham and Hannah (Taylor) Wareham.^[2]

They lived in nearby Audley and raised a family. Matthew worked as a miner in ironstone and coal mines.

Matthew passed away on February 26, 1908 at the age of 64 in Wolstanton.^[3]
