Thanks for helping with Wikitree
We contacted you while ago about the England Project's annual check-in with project members and haven't heard back from you. I hope you are well.
One of the requirements for membership of the England Project is that each member responds to the project's annual check-in.
We have assumed that you no longer wish to participate in the England Project and have removed you from our list of members. You are welcome to re-apply to join the project at any time by signing-up on the project’s G2G welcome post.
Thank you for contributing to the England Project!
Best wishes,
Joan, on behalf of the England Project Leadership
I sent you a message a while ago as part of the England Project's annual check-in with project members. I haven't heard back from you. I hope you are well.
If you could send me a quick message to confirm whether you are still interested in the project and wish to remain an active member, that would be great. We ask all project members to reply to our annual check-in as a requirement of membership.
Thank you again for your contributions towards the England Project's goals!
Maddy, on behalf of the England Project leadership
Thank you for contributing towards the goals of the England Project! Over the past year, a staggering amount has been done to improve English profiles on WikiTree and we couldn't have done it without you and our other project members.
The England Project leadership like to check in with all our project members at least once a year. I can see you haven’t been very active and hope you are ok. Are you happy to stay in your current project team/s? Or is there another team you would like to join or become more active in?
Please reply to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message. I look forward to hearing from you. Please also let us know if you have other feedback about the direction of the project.
Many thanks!
Maddy, on behalf of the England Project leadership

Thank you for all the work that you have done for the England Project. I do not seem to have had a response from you from the recent England Project check in.

Thank you for joining us! I wanted to check in with you to see how things are going. How do you like WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How To Pages been helpful or have they left you with questions?

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
I can see that you've been with WikiTree some time, but I thought you might like to see this updated info about GEDCOMs.
Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree. It generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through, either accepting or rejecting all suggested matches. Once that has been done, you should see [add] buttons for each of the remaining names.
The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
For those using Chrome or Opera browsers, there is a tool that can help with the formatting of profiles which have been created through GEDCOM, so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, log into WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment. Alternatively, click my name to visit my profile. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.
Have fun
Maureen ~ WikiTree Greeter
PS. my father's family were from Sheffield - I will have to look to see if I have any Hamblett connections
Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.
It looks like the England Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles that you manage or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
David ~ Pre-1700 Greeter
Yes, You will first need to join the England Project then ask to join the Orphans Trail and a Trail Blazer will then be assigned. You can go straight to the England Project by clicking the link in this message or the England Project link in the Pre-1700 post above to join.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around
First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on?
Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Amy, Joan & Lizzie.
Good to hear from you! I'm glad that you're learning a lot in the project and that you're staying safe and well through the current pandemic.
Feel free to reach out to me if you need anything further down the line :)
Regards, Amy
This is just a friendly suggestion to help improve your citations. It's great to see web links to records, but it would also be very helpful to include a brief description about the source, especially when it requires a login or membership to access. For example, describe if the link is to a birth, baptism, marriage, etc record, and the relevant names and dates. Also include the name of the database collection if you're citing from say Ancestry or FindMyPast or similar site, as well as the source of the original data (location and name of register book, etc). That really helps everyone to identify the record being cited, whether or not they have access to the link.
Hope that helps. Thanks for your contributions, and welcome to WikiTree!
