Biography

Parscilla was born before 1770. She passed away in 5 Oct 1856 Æ 87.

WikiTree Bio: They res. Winslow, Maine; Baptists. She is described as a jolly little woman, with always a story for the children; an excellent housekeeper, as were her daughters. A grand-daughter writes: "To be told that if I would be a good girl all the week I might go to Grandma's Saturday, and walk to church with Grand pa in the morning, was enough to keep me very good. The walk was more than a mile and a half, but he never missed it, and the last words of Grandma would be: 'Now, walk proper, for it is the Sabbath day.' With stick in hand, in imitation of Grandfather's staff, which he always carried, I trudged along behind him, stepping as nearly in his steps as I could, thereby 'walking proper,' as I thought. Grandmother usually rode to church with Aunt Lucy. They were frugal, industrious people." In 1805 he was delegate from Harlem, now China, to the ordination of Rev. Nathaniel Robinson, who became pastor of the Baptist church in Palermo, Maine. He d. of cancer, Vassalboro, 1839; she survived him and d. knitting in her chair, China, 1856.

The Chadwick Family of Jones' Plantation in Maine.

Compiled by Lillian Rich (McLaughlin) Gilligan, 1931. is a great source, and indicated my 3rd Great Grandmother is Zeruriah ( or Zuriah, or Sophia ) as the first child of this marriage. they apparently had 12 children. I have added Zeruriah to my family tree, but do not know how to audit this site ( too new to do that) thanks
