Biography

Priscilla Hamblin was born April 3, 1670, the daughter of John Hamlin and Sarah Bearse of Barnstable, Massachusetts[1] [2] [3]

On April 23, 1696, she married John Rogers of Eastham, Barnstable, Massachusetts, the son of John Rogers and Elizabeth Twining.[4] [5] [6][7] After their marriage, this family settled in Harwich[8]. Their children included[9]:

  1. Ebenezer, born February 17, 1698[9] [8]
  2. Thankful, born October 24, 1699[9] [8]
  3. John, born August 1701[9] [8]
  4. Jonathan, born March 20, 1703[9] [8]
  5. Benjamin, born November 19, 1704[9]
  6. Sarah, born July 21, 1706[9] [8]
  7. Joseph, born September 20, 1708[9] [8]
  8. Priscilla (possibly) born 1710, who married Reuben Nickerson (see the capecodhistory reference that was used to create the profile)

Priscilla (Hamlin) Rogers death date is not certain. This record shows 3 Jan 1714, although it could have been as late as April 1728 (FindAGrave shows both dates[10]), however there is consistent information that she was buried in the Rogers plot at the First Congregational Church Cemetery Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, USA

Compiling data for genetic research does not require the same type of documentation as traditional genealogical research. The genes themselves verify relationships and qualify or disqualify a person from a particular study. Citing the source of every genealogical fact was deemed unnecessary and cost prohibitive. Records were created from birth, marriage and death records; obituaries; probate records; books of remembrance; family histories; genealogies; family group sheets; pedigree charts; and other sources. After viewing the quality of the source material used to create the gene pool the electronic rights to the data were purchased. (Ancestry.Com)
