DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
Hamblin-698 and Hamblin-549 appear to represent the same person because: 1- There is no Ann Johnson Hamblin born in this family, but 2- There is a Mary Ann Hamblin whose married last name is Johnson. 3- There are no references to support an 1857 birth year. Also: There is a possibility that Ann Johnson Hamblin belongs to a different family, so consider removing her from these parents rather than merging. I have thoroughly searched for references for her and as far as I can tell, Ann Johnson Hamblin doesn't exist in this family or region, but she does seem to be the same person as Mary Ann Hamblin who married Sixtus Ellis Johnson.
Hamblin-702 and Hamblin-549 appear to represent the same person because: 1-Same parents and siblings, 2-There weren't two Mary Ann Hamblin's in this family. 3- The year of birth is the same, the 1880 census record is the same. 4- The place of birth is different, but there is no reference showing that Washington, Utah is the birth location on one profile, while the other profile show Kanab, Utah as the birth location with a reference. It seems that the Washington, Utah location was an estimate.
