Margaret Potter Hinman July 19, 1919 ~ January 26, 2013

Margaret Potter Hinman went home to be with her heavenly family on Jan. 26, 2013, at the young age of 93. She was born July 19, 1919 in Nutrioso, Ariz., to Don Carlos and Ida Lee Hamblin. She married Eugene John Potter on June 1, 1937. They raised five children.

Margaret was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. She served in many different offices of the church, as well as two stake missions with her husband.

After Gene's death in 1981, she met and married Lee Ledford. They moved to Aztec where she spent her time growing roses and making jelly from the grapes in her yard. The marriage didn't last long.

In 1989, she married a friend of the family, Travis Hinman. They bought a fifth wheel and became "snow birds." They spent a number of years in Kingman, Ariz. When Travis died in 2003, Margaret lived with her granddaughter, Alana.

From 2005 until her passing, she lived with her son, Jerry and his wife, Becky in Gilbert, Ariz.

Margaret loved spending time at the family cabin in the La Plata Mountains. She wrote many poems. Margaret worked at Sprouse Ritz, McClellans, and the Central Kitchen for Farmington Municipal Schools.

Margaret was preceded in death by husbands, Eugene John Potter and Travis Hinman; her parents; children, Ronald Eugene and Rosalyn Mae Potter; three brothers and seven sisters.

She is survived by sons, Bob (Cheryl) Potter of New Hampshire; Jerry (Becky) Potter, of Ariz.; David (Camilla) Potter. of Colorado; daughter-in-law, Tiny Potter, of Farmington; two sisters, Helen Ellsworth and Shirley Velejos; 19 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

A service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stake Center, 4400 College Blvd. in Farmington.

Local arrangements are with Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
