Sir Alexander Hamilton of Ballencrieff and Innerwick

Peerage listing (1)

"Between 1415 and 1454 nothing appears in records which can be definitely identified as referring to this family. In the last named year sasine of the lands of Innerwick, Ballnevyn and Drumcallous was granted to Archibald Hamilton. Whether Archlibald. was a son or grandson of Sir Alexander is not certain, but from the dates it is practically certain that he was a grandson. the son perhaps was another Alexander". Quote from Hamilton (2).
