Biography
Jean was a natural daughter of James Hamilton, 1st earl of Arran. By her father's will dated 26 March 1529 she received as a special bequest funds for her dowry and her wedding dress for her marriage to David Boswell, Laird of Auchinlek.[1][2] Jean Hamilton and her husband, David Boswell, received on 12 February 1531/2 a charter of the barony of Auchinleck.[3]
David Boswell died sometime before 1561, and Jean married (second), before June 1563, John Hamilton of Auchingemmill.[2]
