Cordia Hamilton was born November 17, 1861 in Lincoln County, Tennessee to father J.B. Hamilton of Lincoln County, Tennessee and mother Henrietta Smith of Lincoln County, Tennessee.^[1]

Cordie M Stephenson was enumerated as wife of the head of household in ED 61, District 8, Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Tennessee for the June 1, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born November 1861 in Tennessee and had been married for eighteen years. She was the mother of two children of which both were still living. Also included in the household are head James R Stephenson, son Earnest R Stephenson, daughter Ofelia L Stephenson, father Thomas U Stephenson, mother Mary R Stephenson and servant Lee Mcelroy as seen in an image of the original census.^[3]
