Research Notes
N.B. Johnston claims his will was recorded 22 Dec 1674, 12 years after his death.[3] This is an error confusing the Hamiltons of Grange in Edinburgh (commisariot of Edinburgh) with the Hamiltons of Grange in Ayrshire (Commissariot of Glasgow) The correct date is 25 Aug 1662,[4]
