Robert's certificates state being born in 1846, but church records state his baptism date as November 11, 1849 (this date used). He emigrated to Victoria in 1878 and worked at station 'GLENGOWER' and married the owner's daughter at age 49 (?). Became a farmer at Sandon near Newstead in Central Victoria. He died aged 78 (81?) in 1924 of a heart muscle complaint (Myocarditis) after a long illness of three years. His death certificate states 55 years in Australia, but this is incorrect. No photograph has been located. They lived in a home called 'Leumeah', now owned by a relative Jim Ebery, who bought it from Alex's estate in 1942. Robert's wife Jeanie had sold it to her eldest son Alex in 1928.
