Biography

Alice was born in 1894 in Stroud, Gloucestershire. She was the daughter of John and Lonie Hamlin.

In 1905 she emigrated to New Zealand with her family, travelling on the Ionic from London to Wellington. At the time of this migration, the family included these children: Ethel, Charles, Fred, Alfred, Herbert, Ella, and Alice. Alice was listed last, so she may have been the youngest.

She married Claude Stephen Collins in 1928.

Alice passed away in 1986 and was buried at Kelvin Grove Cemetery.
