John was born about 1846 [1]
Marriage to Fanny Robinson in 1878 [2] At the age of 32
They had one child (adopted?) in 1884 Frances (Fanny).
He died of heart failure in 1901 [3] aged 55 years The sudden death of John Hammond in Kimbolton, residing in Fielding, recently from Waipukurau. https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/FS19010513.2.25
Leaving behind a wife and his only (16 year old) daughter.
