Dimmis was born in 1809. She passed away in 1887. Her marriage record lists her parents as Arron Hammond and Lucy Osgood. Dimmis married her brother-in-law Allen Butler after the death of her sister Fanny and became the stepmother of her niece Fanny. Dimmis gave birth to 5 children: Lucy, Abigail, Adaline, Aaron, and Woodbury. (Hayward p 280)
