Mortgage dated 14th day of May 1840 and recorded to the clerk's office of Madison county, on the 18th day of May 1840, at 5 o'clock p.m. in liber Q of mortgages, page 13, and the amount claimed to be due at the first publication of this notice, is one thousand and seventy six dollars and thirty three cents; The lands mortgaged are the former homestead farm of the said mortgagee, in the town of Fenner, in the county of Madison, containing one hundred acres of and, more or less; a part of said farm containing fifty - two acres, part of lot number thirty - four in said town of Fenner, was purchased by said mortgagee, of his father, Pardon Hammond; the other part, forty eight acres was purchased of Mr. Page and more particularly described as follows; Beginning part of the New Petersburgh, and beginning at the southwest corner of said lot and running easterly along the south line of said lot 54 chains and 95 links to the center of the highway or old Oneida turnpike; thence southwesterly along the center of said hghway south 85 degrees west 10 chains and 50 links, and south 86 degrees and 15 minutes west 28 chains and 15 links to the west line of said lot: thence southerly along th ewest line of said lot 5 chains and 17 links to the place of beginning by the quantity more or less. By virtue of a power contained in amid mortgage, the said mortgaged premises will be said at public house now occumpied by Anthony Barrett in the town of Fenner, on the fifteenth day of October next, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon -- Dated 19th July, 1842.
