Oscar brought Marjorie and their children to California sometime between 1943 and 1945 before going off to war. While in San Francisco, CA before going to war, he was at a USO (United Service Organizations) dance, where he met Betty Coops. Shortly thereafter Oscar and Betty got married. After Oscar went off to war, Betty applied for military spousal benefits, but was told that Oscar already had a wife getting spousal benefits. Betty then filed annulment papers.
In 1955, Oscar married Patricia Morris in Maine. When she was giving birth to their son Mark in September of 1955, she found out that Oscar was already married so she filed annulment papers for her marriage to Oscar.
He passed away in June 7, 1971 at the age of 61.
He was buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Hartland, Maine.
