Hugh was born in 1834. He was the son of Hugh Hammond and Hannah Harris.
UK Census Event Date 1841: Living with his parents, nine siblings and four other indivduals in Wroughton Village, Heanton Punchardon, Devon, England. Aged 6.
Hugh emigrated from England to the United States with his family on about 18 May 1850, possibly on the ship Empire State, departing from Liverpool. [1]
He married Frances Cornelia Graves.
United States Census Event Date 1900: Living with his wife Frances and three adult children Hugh, Mary and Newton in ED 69 Election District 2 Rochester City Ward 10, Monroe, New York, United States. Aged 66.
Hugh passed away in 1910 at the age of 75.[2]
