Biography
Catherine Freeman died at sea with her husband travelling en route to England from the West Indies with her husband.
It is possible that Catherine was the sister of Rebecca Hampson, Jane Austen's paternal grandmother. Catherine's son, Henry Cope Freeman, left £100 to "his dear relation" Reverend George Austen, when he died in 1776.[1]
