In 1841, Catharine's husband John, about age 38, was working as a linen and woollen weaver, according to the census, while living at Kionehenin, just north of Dhoon, in the Parish of Maughold. It is worth noting that in this area there was a quarry, on the side of Barony Hill, and it is quite possible that John Wade also worked in the mines.
