Lucy was born 23 Dec 1894 in Herman, Washington, Nebraska, USA to Alfred Hampton (1859–1948) and Lucinda Abrey Marsh (1861–1927).

Lucy married Homer Armstrong and had the following children:

Mrs. Armstrong, a native of Nebraska, was born Dec. 23, 1894. She died Dec. 29 in Wichita. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery, Cincinnati,AR with Roberts Funeral Home directing. Survivors include five daughters, four sons, 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren
